• Purpose: The Volunteer Coordinator will be responsible for an active build site volunteer program. Build and maintain a strong volunteer base in order to increase SENH Habitat for Humanity’s capacity to serve more families. Responsibilities will include identifying qualified volunteers using website, Facebook and VolunteerUp software. The coordinator will be an important member of the team, working closely with the Executive Director, the Construction Manager, staff and volunteers. The coordinator will assist with external communications relating to volunteerism such as emails and Facebook posts.
• Time Commitment: Part time (20hrs/week), Flexible hours but require Thursday and Saturday at the build site (currently in Rochester soon to be in Dover). Office location is Portsmouth, some work can be done at home.
• Pay: Hourly non-exempt position. $15-18/hour based on experience
• Direct Supervisor: Executive Director
? Two years’ experience preferred in a non-profit or community organization or equivalent
? Ability to work with diverse partners and demonstrate patience and flexibility
? Energetic, creative and focused
? Self-starter with ability to work both independently and with other staff and volunteers
? Ability to work on the job-site with limited resources as well as in an office setting
? Proficient computer use of programs such as Word, Outlook and Excel.
? Ability to learn new computer programs such as VolunteerUP, etc.
? Must be proficient with e-mail and social media, website experience also a plus
? Should be highly motivated, well-organized, articulate, and possess a good sense of humor with congenial flexibility
? Recruit, train, support, oversee and recognize volunteers
? Work closely with the ED and the Construction Manager
? Identify volunteers and schedule accordingly for the build site
? Creatively engage non-traditional volunteer (Corporate, Veteran, Women, Youth, Faith communities) coordination including engagement and presentations as needed
? Photograph build site activity and post to Facebook following each build
? Maintain volunteer records including waivers and track hours
? Report to volunteers via email on build activity, progress and what to expect on their build day
? Track and report Partner Family sweat equity hours
? Enthusiastically embrace and share the mission and vision of SENH Habitat for Humanity
? Other duties as directed by the ED
